I don’t do any ‘fixed price’ work. Experience has taught me that it never really works and both parties end up with a compromise. Instead, I prefer to get to the bottom of what you are trying to achieve and then advise on the best approach. At least then, everyone knows what’s expected of them. For new clients I ask for 33% deposit at the start of the first project, with the balance due on completion. Following that, my invoice terms are 30 days. How much does a web site cost? Web sites are as unique as the organisations and people who commission them. There are gazillions of them out there and like any communication project, they require an investment in time and understanding if they’re going to be effective. What I will say though, is that you usually get what you pay for and if you are serious about your communication, then your web site is probably the most important tool you’ve got. (serious face on!)
